Islanders call up G Christopher Gibson before game against Lightning

With goalies Jaroslav Halak and Jean-Francois Berube injured for the Islanders, the team had to make an emergency call up before the their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

The Islanders recalled goaltender Christopher Gibson from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Isanders head coach Jack Capuano said Monday that Thomas Greiss will start in goal against the Lightning.

Berube is currently day-to-day with a lower-body injury, while Halak is going to miss the remainder of the season with an injury that was announced earlier this year.

The Islanders also on Monday loaned Adam Pelech to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for conditioning while he recovers from an injury.
